MPB (Mamma, Pappa, Boy)
In 2020, during the final year of my father's life, my brother and I found more than 35 hours of films he had made over many years. Some were silent 8mm films from his youth; later videos documented our family and the seven children growing up. After he died, the archive revealed a curious and artistic side of him that I had not fully known.
MPB began from this discovery. I am editing the films, composing music around them and working increasingly with his recorded voice. The next stage explores whether a synthetic version of that voice can enter a musical exchange with my own. In a way, the project is becoming the collaboration we never had while he was alive.
